Freedom of Scholarship -A Serious Look

Narensomu,

Hilarious! Lol! Oh, I am sorry, I am supposed to be serious in your class? Ok, done! Firstly, for a long time (tube light that I am) I was wondering where you are going with all these theories, though I should say they were ingenious and original. After reading your other blogs related to the subject, and reading the last part, I finally realised what the whole thing is about! Sarcasm oozed out from every line, great work!  But with your example at the end you may have veered a bit from what you tried to say, which may cause some confusion to some folks.

Presumed Guilty

Keshav,

A very nice post on a very delicate subject, handled quite sentitively. But I felt  it is slighlty cliched. Still since this post had a positive message and idealism (God knows we need it!), I feel the cliches can be ignored. Good narration!

Go to your child in pain, Mother

Raj sir,

Your poem is so simple, yet conveys so much meaning. There is a divine force that goes beyond any names, and since that is the force which cares for us (whether we realise it or not), it is only apt to call it as the Divine Mother.

Ramar or Sethu or Ramar Sethu?

A very good blog! I especially liked the last line concerning faith - bull's eye! This project has a lot of environmental impacts too, spoiling of coral reefs and the likes. And, you are perfectly right that in case it had involved other religions, the Government would have silently closed it.

End of the world?

Raj Sir,

Thanks for reading and the compliments! Frankly, in any religion the ends-of-days-are-here theories sound funny to me. I think these theories are another way to make humans feel guilty about committing sins. It is probably primitive too, especially if any religion says the non-believers (good or not) will all go to hell and they (as believers) will ascend to heaven.

End of the world?

Riverine,

Thanks for reading and commenting! Converting to Mayanism occured to me too, but certain practices (as I have mentioned in the blog) pertaining to human sacrifices freaked me out!  But unlike other religions they don't say their followers will be spared, that's the beauty of it!

What? All our countless Gods are not Indian? Will have to get enlightened about this from Narensomu! Hmm...Interesting thought!

Nandanar sits on the hilltop

Sir,

I followed Narensomu's comment and came here, and really glad that I did! You have used simple words, but conveyed such  wonderful Bhakthi! First Nandanar views his surroundings and observes a lot of things, and slowly as he gets deeper into his meditation, he can think of only one thing - God. The way you have described this is amazing!
