The Land of Ram Sethu - a travelogue : Part I

Kaveriamma,

Thanks for commenting and the kind words!

Yes, I went to Rameswaram ironically around the so-called-bandh-no-bandh time. Even if we leave religion totally out of the picture, after seeing the coral reefs first hand, I simply can't digest any project which may harm this amazing natural phonemena. As you said, alternates are available, probably more feasible and economical but the issue is just political now, sadly.

The Land of Ram Sethu - a travelogue : Part I

Geekunnel,

Thanks for being the first one to comment on the post! I had a pleasant surprise at all the places I saw at Rameswaram, I went with low expectations and came back with amazing experience.

Home is where the Hearth is!!

Hey Michael, oops, Wiskyd! (Somehow in my mind's eye the small kid Calvin morphed as Michael Corleone, and I bet it was strange!)
Good one, with your usual dose of humour! I agree, even so-called minor remodelling work somehow becomes a big project which eats up our time and money.

So, I Do Say, World Is Anthropocentric

Dr. Kartha,

A really thought provoking blog! It could not have come at a more appropriate time too - the effects of global warming is becoming so obvious and scary. And to think all these disasters will befall this beautiful planet only because of one so-called-most-evolved-species! I especially like your idea -

I am like a drunken guest arrives late to a nice party, starts hogging all the food,

Creates mayhem, throws out other guests, destroys properties as if I own all!
How true, in evolutionary terms, we are just into our baby-steps and see what mayhem we have caused!

That night, in Mathura

Narensomu,

That was simply amazing!  This is a very different perspective, from the point of view of River Yamuna. Your poetry has a fluidity about it, just like the river. I could envisage the whole scene as it would have happened eons ago! Great post, and keep up the poetry!

KARUNANIDHI'S DIVIDING RIDGE or ADAM'S LINKING BRIDGE

Riverine,

Lol! What sarcasm! The dig about the 'Russian name', and the dig about Periyar's original name! For a moment I thought I was reading a translated article from Thuqlak. Good one! Especially the interview at the end! I think MK is really going senile that he has started sounding actually funny.

Cocktail Curry

Narensomu,

Great to see you back wih your humour posts! Great, lol, with a nice twist at the end! Autobiographical?  Wonder how the dish will come out exactly if I try to add all the ingredients you've mentioned!  Hey, you can give it some fancy name (say, like La Leftoveare or something!) and post it as a gourmet recipe, or better still, share it with TV viewers in one of those cookery programmes!

E=3MC ²

Narensomu,

Well said! We only seem to have 'distortionists' all around, but sensible people know these statements are only made for politicizing the issue, also these statements are made by senseless imbeciles. I don't think these distortions will have any effect on logical, sensible people. As you have mentioned if someone comes and proclaims E=3MC ²,  he/she just becomes a laughing stock, and the theory of relativity is as such unaffected by this 'slander'!

It's just not Cricket!!!

You are right. It is just not the comparison between cricketers and writers/poets. India won the Asia cup in Soccer recently, after many years. Do we even know the names of the players, or how much they got for that win, or was there any parade? Only cricket and films get so much adulation and money.

CRICKET & CLIMAX - CAN THEY BE SEPARATED???

Praggya,

Well said! What stood out this time is the fact that it was a team effort. No sparkling individual performances, everyone pitched in, and for a change the bowling and fielding won the match for us, rather than batting!
